SALOME'S OBSESSION

The designer is a professional percussionist who participated in the Israeli production of Salome opera by Richard Strauss. The experience of playing in the opera left a great impression on her, therefore the iconic image of Salome became the inspiration for the collection. Obsession - this is the key word in understanding Salome and all that is related to her. Every single character in the opera is driven by a strong and blind obsession, which of course ultimately leads to tragedy. The obsession takes over Salome and consumes her, but also gives her the strength and courage to act thus control her destiny. In the collection, the drama, obsession and complex music are expressed in the dynamic silhouettes, the unique abstract draping, and Smocking techniques – all of which are handcrafted. To complete the look, shiny nylon fabrics in dramatic colors were chosen.
